Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their last four games.

My son told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

But I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but they have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
