An Australian man who jumped across a fence and touched celebrity Ariana Grande has been deported and prohibited from Singapore.

The individual, aged 26, was handed a penalty to over a week in jail for causing a public disturbance and has now been "barred from re-entering Singapore," the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority told local media.

Wen pushed past photographers and rushed toward the actress and singer, who was attending the Asian debut for Wicked: For Good on November 13. Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo wrestled him away from Grande.

Wen has a history of interrupting performances and star-studded occasions, including leaping onto the platform at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in June this year.

The event sparked outrage in Singapore, with numerous people saying he of causing further distress to the star.

The singer has spoken of experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a explosive incident at her show in the English city in May 2017 killed 22 people and hurt numerous attendees.

In the legal process, the court heard he had made efforts to breach on the red carpet event twice, according to regional reports.

He then made a another effort to cross the barriers. Event security prevented him and restrained him.

Wen later posted recordings expressing gratitude to the star for allowing his presence and said he was "released."

Police detained him the subsequent day and charged him with public nuisance, to which Wen pleaded guilty.

The Court Judge Christopher Goh was cited by Channel News Asia as stating that he was looking for publicity, noting that he was mistaken to assume he would not suffer any consequences.

Grande has not addressed the incident.

Cynthia Erivo spoke about the situation to the press, stating that she "simply desired to make sure my friend was protected."

"I'm sure he didn't mean us danger, but you cannot be certain with such situations, and I aimed to make sure that she was fine. That was my first instinct," she commented.
